About the clinic

Dr Swindle is one of the few urologists in Australia who specialises in prostate cancer. If you wish to see Dr Swindle for a consultation, please phone or email his rooms; alternatively complete an online booking form and one of our staff will contact you.

Booking your consultation

Once an appointment has been made to see Dr Swindle, you will be sent some patient information forms. Please complete these and bring them with you on the day of the appointment. At the time of booking we will also request details of any PSA tests, biopsies, urine tests, relevant X-rays, ultrasound scans and MRIs that you may have had. We also require a referral from your General Practitioner.

If you are coming to see Dr Swindle for an elevated PSA or lower urinary tract symptoms, please ensure that you have had a recent mid-stream urine test.

If you have a history of rising PSA levels, it is also recommended that you have a Multiparametric MRI of your prostate prior to seeing Dr Swindle. Please discuss this with our staff at the time of booking your appointment.

Second opinion consultations

If you are coming to see Dr Swindle regarding a second opinion for prostate cancer a lengthy consultation time will be set aside to discuss all the relevant issues. If your histopathology was sent to any pathology laboratory other than Aquesta Pathology we will arrange for your slides to be forwarded to them for a second opinion as well. This will incur a charge of charge that is non-rebatable from Medicare or your private health fund.

What to bring to your consultation
  • A referral from your GP (this can be faxed to us by your GP)
  • Completed patient information sheets (these will be forwarded to you when your appointment is made)
What to expect at your consultation

Dr Swindle will look at your full medical history, examine you and review the results of any previous investigations. He will then discuss the findings with you and your family and may then order further diagnostic investigations including pathology and/or radiology tests or recommend a surgical procedure. If further investigations or a surgical procedure is recommended, this will be arranged by the reception staff.
